►CBT ( Computer Based Test)

► OSCE

Lets Talk about CBT first:-

Here you start your NMC Registration through NMC Online, an online platform for registration in UK. There you have to pay a registration fee of  140 pounds(Application fee). You will then receive approval and can book for your CBT examinatiopn. You can participate in this test from Nepal. In the Computer Based Test, the test itself has 2 modules, a numerical module and a clinical module. You will be given 120 multiple-choice questions to complete in four hours.

After passing the CBT test, NMC will ask you for a number of documents for verification. It may take up to 60 days for NMC to approve your application.

4 Interview With Employer

Afterwise, you will need to submit a number of documents such as your NHS application form, police certificate and address proof to the NHS Trust. You will then have an interview with your employer. Once you pass the interview, your employer will issue a Certificate of Sponsorship (COS) which plays a major role in applying for the UK work visa. Currently, the MOU between UK and Nepal government dectates only NHS is allowed to ethically hire nurses, so don't get fooled by any other agencies saying otherwise.

5. Visa Application

After receiving your Certificate of Sponsorship (COS), you can now apply for your UK work visa. You have to apply for a Tier 2 Visa which will cost you 330$

6. Travel to UK

Now you are ready to go. Pack your bags, schedule your flight and make your way to the United Kingdom. Once you go there in work visa, you can then start your OSCE preparation. OSCE is conducted in UK itself.

7. Pass OSCE (Objective Structured Clinical Examination)

OSCE (Objective Structured Clinical Examination) is the second test you have to pass for your NMC registration. The OSCE test is conducted in the United Kingdom and it is designed to assess your clinical knowledge and practical skills.

There are six stations each with simulated patients and scenerios. A nurse is expected to devise a proper plan of care and appropriately implement it, along with that interpersonal skills such as communications are also assessed in OSCE.. You will be given 10 to 17 minutes to complete each station.

  • Exam Centers for OSCE: UK- Oxford Brookes University/University of Northampton/Ulster University
  • Exam Cost: GBP 794,

8. Receive NMC PIN

After passing the OSCE test, you become registered with NMC and get your NMC Personal Identification Number (PIN). The NMC registration fee is GBP 153.
